Srinagar, Feb 14 (KNS): Chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Saturday said with changing word political scenario the Kashmir issue is gaining momentum while maintaining there is a dire need of resolving this vexed issue.
“Keeping in view the major political changes taking place across the globe, there seem to be positive changes happening with regard to Kashmir issue as world leadership has realised the vitality of resolving this dispute to ensure a peaceful world,” Shabir Ahmad Shah said in his telephonic conversation with the party representatives and workers on the inauguration of DFP office in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Terming Jammu and Kashmir as the “unfinished agenda of the partition of India”, Shah said, “Until the people of this state are not given the right of deciding their future or the Kashmir issue resolved as per UN resolutions, the subcontinent will continue to loom under political anarchy and threat of war.”
Addressing the party members, which included senior leaders, Er Farooq Ahmad Khan, Molvi Bashir Ahmad Shah, district president Tanveer Ahmad and others, the DFP chairman called for strengthening the party base at grassroots level and consolidating the public contacts.
“We must generate hope among the people that they are not alone in the freedom movement but the justice-loving people of the world are assuring their support to our cause. At global level, the Kashmir issue is witnessing a paradigm shift with world leadership mulling to seek resolution to the dispute,” Shah said.
Shah said Kashmiris living across the world are “ambassadors of our freedom movement” who are bound to create awareness about the Kashmir issue at their respective political forums.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Urging party members to work with full dedication, Shah said “the brave people of Shopian have rendered immense sacrifices for the freedom movement”. “We have to honour the sacrifices of Aasiya and Neelofar and must differentiate between truth and falsehood. To achieve power is not our goal but to secure the mission for which our people laid down their precious lives since last 69 years.”
On the occasion, Shabir Ahmad Shah also hailed Pakistan for its “unwavering” support to the Kashmir cause saying Kashmiris are indebted to the government and people of this nation. “We hope Pakistan continues playing its role with regard to Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom.”
Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson paid tributes to mujahedeen martyred in Chowkibal gunfight in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. “The sacrifices of our martyrs will not go waste as we are committed to take forward their pious mission.”
Spokesperson strongly condemned death threats issued to Syed Ali Geelani by a notorious gangster Ravi Pujari and said that it depicts the growing intolerance in India .He warned of dire consequences and said that despite all odds our leadership and people will pursue the freedom struggle and Indian government will be sole responsible if any untoward happens to Geelani Sahib.
While paying glowing tributes to Shaheed Gh Muhammad Bulla on his 40th anniversary, spokesperson described him pioneer leader of freedom movement that can’t be ignored or underestimated. (KNS)
