Vikar directs construction companies to meet out on public expectations

Ramban, Nov 27 (KNS): The House Assurance Committee(HAC) led by its chairman and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani concluded its two day visit of district Udhampur Ramban today.
According to a statement issued to KNS, on the last day of its two day tour the HAC visited various construction sites and inspected the ongoing developmental work besides taking the stock of problems including dusty dilapidated national highway and link roads, polluted water bodies, loss of fish farming in local streams due to pollution,frequent traffic snarls ,safety of workers and inhabitants,ignored public utilities.
The committee directed the construction agencies to speed-up the work and complete it at an earliest.
Chairman directed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department to submit DPR for water supply schemes for the affected areas. He further directed the Public Works Department to submit the DPR for maintenance work of Nachlana to Mandakbass, Bankoot to Tatnihal and Banihal to kaskot roads so that work can be started under project share of concerned companies using these roads for project proposess by the railway and fourlane construction companies
Various deputations of Khari, Banihal, Ramsoo and Magarkote apprised the committee chairman Vikar Rasool and Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mohd Aijaz of their problems being faced by them including scarcity of water and electricity, paucity of staff in schools and hospitals, compensation of road connected to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Khari.
They demanded the priority to locals’ employment in the ongoing national projects, scholarship for students of tribal community, bus service for the students of the area, fencing of school premises, protection walls, black topping ofNachlana-Khaei road.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Speaking on the occasion the chairman directed the construction agencies to start basic minor developmental and maintenance works before the snow fall so that people don’t suffer further. He assured them that their genuine demands shall be taken-up on priority with the higher authorities.
Vikar Rasool Wani expressed his serious concern on the non serious attitude of local construction companies in adjustment of unemployed local youths in under construction railway and four lane construction projects in his assembly segment. He directed DC Ramban to monitor the recruitment process of these companies and ensure adjustment of local unemployed youths on priority bases.
Besides other minor issues highlighted by public during this extensive tour of house Assurances committee Vikar Rasool emphasized upon the project Director NHA to review the existing survey of four lane project between Ramban sector and ensure connectivity of four lane with Banihal, Ramsoo and makerkoot market with a priority of construction of more tunnels in the dangers portion of Ramban Banihal in order to minimize the scope of road accidents and speedy completion of this prestigious road project.
The chairman was accompanied by Superintendent Engineer, PWD Des Raj, Superintending Engineer PHE, BL Dhar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Babu Ram and various district and sectoral officers. (KNS)
