Jammu, Jan 31 (KNS): The legislative Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta adjourned the proceedings of the house twice after opposition created uproar over the demand of BJP MLA for expunging remarks of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Article 370.
BJP MLA Rajiv Jasrotia had demanded that the Speaker should expunge statement of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Article 370 who had said that those people who are speaking for abrogation of article 370 are anti-national.
According to KNS correspondent covering the Assembly proceedings, leader of the opposition Omar Abdullah stood up and said that it is for the first time that speaker is talking about expunging the remarks of the leader of the house.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He sought immediate response of the Chief Minister to the Speaker’s remark and she should clarify whether she stands by his remark or not.
The entire opposition stood up and amid uproarious scenes speaker had to adjourn house for half an hour twice each time fifteen minutes.
The opposition asked Chief Minister to quit then to refute her remark.
When the house resumed its proceedings for the third time Speaker told the opposition that he had not directed for expunging of Chief Minister’s statement but is studying the rules and procedures on expunging of the remarks of the leader of the house. (KNS)
