Ashai visits Budgam, demands exemplary punishment to the accused involved in brutal murder of a woman

Budgam, Mar 12 (KNS: J&K Peoples Party chief Sheeban Ashai on Sunday visited Soibug, Budgam and sympathizes the family of a 30-year old lady who was initially kidnapped and afterwards brutally murdered by an accused belong to the same district. He at the occasion assured all possible support to the victim’s family on behalf of his party.


“According to NCRB data there is a massive spike in criminal activities; crimes against women and elderly people post 5th August 2019,” Ashai said and added “We impress upon present administration to take very strong notice of the data provided by NCRB. Every other day there are cases of women molestation; eve-teasing, thefts. Drugs have become a menace for the society. We might differ politically on a thousand issues but when it comes to the safety and security of common citizens from such anti-social, nefarious elements everyone in unison must act and voice disapproval for such knavish- perfidious elements”.

Ashai demanded exemplary punishment for the guilty who has committed such a reprehensible crime. He beseeched religious heads and scholars to address growing crimes against women.

He moreover emphasized about role of the civil society in nipping in bud such disgraceful crimes; and urged elders of every village and neighborhood to report crimes and act timely against such anti-social elements.

“Some people unfortunately in our society have this strange habit of turning a blind eye and deaf ear towards such horrendous acts even in their own localities, for it does not concern them directly,” he said and requested people to shun this attitude because what has happened today with this particular woman can happen to their own nears and dears tomorrow if crimes against women-folk are not acted upon expeditiously.
