As drug abuse cases rise in Kashmir, a warning to students in Kupwara

Srinagar, June 15 (KNS): Chief Education Officer Kupwara has directed heads of high and higher secondary schools of the district to get affidavits from parents that their wards are not involved in an drug related activities.

 

According to a circular, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) CEO has warned that in case the student is found involved in any type of such activity his admission will be cancelled. 

 

The circular comes in wake of the rise in drug abuse among youngsters across Jammu and Kashmir with police and administration leaving no stone unturned to curb the menace. 

 

“Since the admission process has been started for Class 9th, 10, 11 & 12. Accordingly the HOIs of HS and HSS are directed to get an affidavit from the parents to the effect that their ward is not involved in any drug related activities,” reads the circular.

 

It added that iIn case the student is found in any type of such activities, the admission of the student will be cancelled ab intio. (KNS)
