ARTO Doda Cracks Down on Traffic Violations; 14 Vehicles Seized, 92 Challans Issued

Doda, July 19 (KNS): In a major enforcement drive to improve road safety, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Doda, Abrar Ahmed Kripak (JKAS), carried out a large-scale crackdown on traffic violators across multiple locations in the district. The drive was conducted under the directions of Secretary Transport, Naveen SL (IAS), and the overall supervision of Transport Commissioner J&K, Vishesh Paul Mahajan (JKAS).

During the special drive carried out at Ganpat, Shiva, Fixo, Thathri, Kahara, and Gondoh Bhalessa, the Motor Vehicles Department seized 14 vehicles for serious traffic offences. Additionally, 37 driving licenses were suspended on the spot for repeated violations and reckless driving.

The team also suspended 11 route permits, blacklisted 22 vehicles, and issued 92 e-challans, resulting in a total fine of ?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel3.10 lakh. The violations included overloading, permit lapses, missing SLDs (Speed Limiting Devices), lack of valid documents, and unsafe driving.

The ARTO Doda stated that the Motor Vehicles Department is committed to maintaining road safety and will continue to conduct such enforcement drives throughout the district. He urged the public and all stakeholders to support this initiative.

“Road safety is not just a transport issue—it’s a social responsibility. We need behavioral change among the public to make our roads safer,” said Abrar Ahmed Kripak.
