‘Udaan’ is the only school in complete North Kashmir valley which is catering for the needs of differently-abled children and this endeavour has profoundly affected the lives of 13 young children. The school also helps the students to cope up with their daily personal needs and the challenges offered by the school curriculum which in effect further enhances their physical and mental abilities.

Popularity of the school is growing as a new entrant, Miss Saadia Manzoor, aged 7 years has recently joined the school in Nov 2014. The girl is impaired of hearing and unable to speak but is considerably happy in the company of other students. Events are being conducted regularly wherein the students exhibit their skills. The school does not charge any fee to the students and is sustained through ‘Sadhbhavna’. The parents feel that ‘Udaan’ is a boon for their children who come from very humble financial background and availability of such infrastructure has really made a difference in the lives of children and their parents.
