Pattan September 16 :In pursuance of Indian army's resolve to strike a chord with the local population and to connect with the awam, khanpeth company commander spent an eventful day with locals of the area in Mirgund playground. The event was attended by around 150 childen from neighbouring villages exuding zeal and enthusiasm. 

The event started with the recital of the national anthem followed by an interactive session wherein the company commander motivated the children to work hard and excel in all walks of life.To add some fun ,various competitions and entertainment activities were conducted including sack race,lemon spoon,musical chair ,carrom,tug of war ,football and break the pyramid .To raise the spirits further, winners of competitions were given prizes at the end of the day culminating in a group photo and refreshments.

The occasion witnessed wholehearted participation by the locals. They also expressed their appreciation for the initiative taken by the army by showering words of gratitude .The event assisted in reaching out to the local populace and fortifiy the bond between awam and jawan. (KNS)
