Army’s 41RR celebrates Kisan Divas in north Kashmir’s Kupwara


Kupwara, Dec 21 (KNS): Army’s 41RR on Monday celebrated Kisan Divas with farmers in Halmatpura, Gulgam and Poshpura of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), one to one discussion cum guidance program was conducted with farmers aimed to address their problems and providing solution to their issues, and also make them aware of various schemes started by the Government for their benefit.
At the occasion, several officers from Department of Agriculture and other departments spoke to the farmers. According to reports, around 350 farmers across district Kupwara attended the program and expressed gratitude to the officials for organizing such beneficial events. The farmers urged officials to carryon such events in future as well so that the emerging issues pertaining to farmers will be addressed.
At Halmatpura, Mr. Mohammad Maqbool, Zonal Agricultural Officer spoke to farmers on the topic of Mushroom Cultivation, Paddy Crop Cultivation (varieties), Schemes per Kanal (subsidy), Fertilisers to use for better crop yield. At the occasion a folk dance and folk song program were also conducted.
Similarly in Gulgam, Dr Ishfaq Ahmad, Agricultural Assistant spoke on Requirements of utilization of Agricultural land post harvesting, Horticulture, Green House farming and Government Scheme for farmers; while Abdul Majeed Sheikh, Panchayat Inspector also spoke about the various reforms for farming.
Those who spoke in Poshpora belt includes Javed Ahmad Tantray (AEO), Pirzada Ishfaq Akbar (AEA), Ghulam Rasool Bhat (JAEO), Mohammad Sayeed Pir (F. Assistant), Bashir Ahmad Sofi (F. Assistant) and Gowhar Rahim Najar (F. Assistant) on the topics of Apiculture, Horticulture, Mushroom Farming, Walnut Farming, Green House construction, Government Schemes & Subsidy and Interaction with public respectively. (KNS)
