Srinagar, Oct 26 (KNS): Army on Friday paid tributes to three of its comrades who were killed during separate operations and incidents in Tral and Anantnag on 25th October and in Sopore on 26th October 2018.
According to a statement issued to KNS, in a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, GOC Chinar Corps and all ranks paid homage to the slain soldiers.
Dilbag Singh, DGP J&K and representatives from various security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the martyrs.
“Slain Lance Naik Brajesh Kumar, 32 years of age, sustained splinter injuries during a fierce operation in Malgunipura (Sopore) on 26 October 2018 during which two militants were also killed. Lance Naik Brajesh Kumar had joined Army in 2004 and hailed from Village Nanawin in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. He is survived by his wife and a daughter,” Defense Spokesman said.
“Slain Sep Ngamsiamliana was killed during a standoff attack on an Army Camp in Luragam village of Tral, Pulwama on 25 October 2018. Sep Ngamsiamliana, 23 years of age, hailed from village Rengtekawn in Kolasib, Mizoram and had joined Army in 2013.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe is survived by his parents,” Army said.
“Sep Rajendra Singh, 22 years of age, was a part of the Quick Reaction Team which was providing security (protection) to a Border Roads Organisation (BRO) convoy on 25 October 2018,” Defense spokesman said, adding that at around 1800 hrs, when the convoy was passing through the Anantnag bypass tri-junction near NH-44, few youth hurled stones at the vehicle and Sep Rajendra Singh was injured after being hit by a stone directly on the head.
“He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to the injury. Sep Rajendra Singh hailed from village Badena in Pithoragarh, Uttrakhand and had joined Army in 2016. He is survived by his parents,” he said.
“The mortal remains of the soldiers were flown for last rites to their native places, where they would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the families of the brave hearts and remains committed to their dignity and well being,” he said. (KNS)
