Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): Army today said that it organized a medical camp in Kathohalan village in Shopian district under the aegis of Chinar Corps to provide much needed medical facilities at the door step of people in remote areas of the Valley.
A defense spokesman said that army medical officers along with trained medical staff were made available to provide free medical checkup and medicines to the local people.
“The opportunity was also utilized to educate the locals on various aspects such as winter precaution, ill effects of drug abuse and precaution pertaining to life style diseases.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelPosters and pamphlets on various diseases and their preventions were also distributed to the people,” the spokesman said.
He claimed that the camp evoked an overwhelming response by locals, especially village elders, who expressed their gratitude for humanitarian gesture by the Army. (KNS)
