Srinagar, Oct 08 (KNS): In continuation of its ongoing initiative towards encouraging sporting talent of the local youth and to encourage physical fitness amongst them the Army’s Dagger Division under aegis of Chinar Corps today organised, an annual event “Mr Baramulla 2015” at Sherwani Community Hall, Baramulla in coordination with J&K Body Building Association.
The Competition received overwhelming response with participants coming from Uri, Pattan, Rafiabad, Boniyar and Baramulla. The event was divided into nine categories and the winner of each competed for the coveted title of “Mr Baramulla”. The gathering was addressed by Maj Gen Raj Shukla, GOC of Dagger Division, wherein he emphasised on the importance of physical fitness and commitment of Army to provide suitable platform to the budding sports persons in the Valley. The event witnessed huge audience in which various dignitaries from civil administration were also present. The local populace was unanimous in voicing their appreciation of such initiatives of the Army which were bound to not only afford opportunities to the youth but also further the bond between the Awaam and its Army.
