Baramulla, August 05 (KNS): The Army under the aegis of Chinar Corps organised a Medical cum Veterinary Camp at Village Pethsir, Baramulla today, defence spokesman said. “This was in response to the constant request by the locals of the area for medical attention as they find it difficult to get medical cover, being a remote area,” he said in a statement.
He added a joint team of doctors from army and civil administration, including lady doctors, nursing assistant and paramedics participated in providing medical assistance to 506 people, (including Male (288), Female (162) and Children (56). Besides this, 351 livestock were also treated at the Camp. A team of one veterinary doctor with two assistants were present to treat the livestock.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHandouts on Himayat project launched by Govt of India were distributed and a lecture on ‘Health & Hygiene’ was also conducted. Various other stalls, including a stall on SBI Life, stall of Stationery & a stall on agricultural products was also on display for the betterment of the locals.
The Army has been regularly organising medical camps in the remote areas of Baramulla District. The general populace in these areas is greatly benefited by these camps as there is a lack of medical facilities in these areas. The continuous and relentless efforts of Indian Army towards conduct of such camps have been greatly appreciated and lauded by the public and help strengthen the bond between the awaam & jawaan.
