Army organises capacity building tour for girls in Handwara

Srinagar, Mar 04 (KNS): As part of Indian Army’s ongoing efforts to engage and empower the Kashmir youth, a capacity building tour for 20 girl students of Mawar Valley was flagged off on 02 Mar 2020. The capacity building tour is scheduled to visit Chandigarh from 04 March to 08 March 20.
It a statement to KNS reads, It is aimed at providing unique exposure to local girls about the pace at which development is taking place in various parts of our country and employment opportunities available for aspiring youth of the state outside Srinagar. The girl students are scheduled to visit one of the best educational institutes of Chandigarh including Gurukul Global School, Punjab Engineering College and Polytechnic College for Women.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThus the students will learn about higher education opportunities available for them. The students will also visit various tourist places of historic values in Chandigarh.
The tour was flagged off from Army Camp Naugam in the presence of Army dignitaries, teachers and parents of participants. During interaction it was reinforced to enhance the awareness of the girls towards empowering them in being major stakeholders in nation building. Such tours are integral to the initiative of engagement, education, empowerment and employment for the
youth of Kashmir. The tour is the first stepping stone towards bright future for the girls who are part of the tour (KNS)
