Handwara, Nov 07 (KNS): On the occasion of National Cancer Awareness Day a talk by medical officer of Indian army was conducted followed by a medical camp.

Focus was laid on early detection which is important in the management and treatment of cancer. Also prevention measures were discussed for making necessary changes in lifestyle. Locals were sensitized on the risk factors, symptoms, screening methods and treatment for cancer.

A medical camp was also organised to treat those requiring medical aid amongst the civilian population in the villages of Puthwari and Reshwari. (KNS)
