Gulmarg June 25 (KNS): A soldier was killed when lightning struck an army post between Ganesh post and Himatt post along the Line of Control in Gulmarg in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district last night.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that lightning struck Himmatt post in Gulmarg sector in which a soldier identified as Rifleman Mandeep Singh Negi son of Satpal Singh Negi resident of Vill-Saknoli Uttrakhand died.

He said that his body was shifted to SDH Tangmarg for legal formalities, and will be sent to Srinager army headquarters.

The official said that the body will be later handed over to the family. (KNS)
