Army in collaboration with civil admin holds medical camp in Handwara’s Satkoji

Handwara, Oct 07 (KNS): A medical camp was organized by Army and civil administration in Satkoji, Jaba locality of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district as a unique gesture to alleviate hardships of local populace from remote areas. 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) the Army and civil administration came together with shared resources to conduct a medical camp for local people.

“The camp was organized at Government Middle School Satkoji wherein 04 Medical Officers and Dental Officer from Army, Gynaecologist, Eye Specialist and a Medical Specialist from Health Department worked tirelessly to provide medical support to 602 patients including 309 males, 208 females and 85 children,” he said.

He said that besides routine medical checkup, special emphasis was laid on screening people in vulnerable age groups for life style diseases.

“Specialist advise and awareness drive on COVID, AIDS, Family planning and immunisation was also imparted. Community leaders expressed their satisfaction and happiness over the initiative taken by the Army and Civil Administration,” the official said. (KNS)
