Army foils infiltration bid in Naugam sector

Srinagar, 11 July (KNS): army on Saturday claimed to have foiled infiltration in Nowgam sector of Kupwara district in north Kashmir.
According to army statement Army’s impervious counter infiltration grid along the Line of Control successfully neutralized an attempt by Pakistan to infiltrate Militants into India. In early hours of the morning of 11th July 2020, Army troops deployed along Line of Control in Naugam Sector detected suspicious movement originating from the Pakistani posts in the area.
The movement through the AIOS was monitored, and an ambush was laid to trap the infiltrators. Swift and bold action by the troops on ground led to the elimination the two Militants , who were trying to infiltrate by cutting the border fence. The heavily armed terrorists, dressed in combat fatigues had taken the route through Pakistan Army posts deployed opposite own defences, clearly indicating Pakistani complicity in fomenting and abetting terror in India.
Action of own troops was precise and timely, thereby ensuring a clean operation. Recoveries from slain Militants include two AK assault rifles, with twelve filled magazines, one pistols with two magazines, four grenades and radio-sets. In addition, large quantity of food items, medicines of Pakistan Manufacturing markings and cash of approximately Rs 1.5 lakhs in Indian and Pakistani currency has also been recovered from the terrorists.
This infiltration attempt follows a pattern of similar attempts made by Pakistan in Kupwara and Rajouri Sectors in recent past. These infiltrations are fully facilitated and supported by Pakistan Army though Cease Fire Violations. There are reports of presence of at least 300 trained terrorists in these launch pads across and it elaborates the recent importance of plans to infiltrate, it said (KNS)
