  Army conducted a grand felicitation ceremony today under the aegis of Chinar Corps namely 'Khel Hunar aur Khushali' at Army Goodwill Secondary School, Margund.
The event was organised to mark the culmination of several welfare events ie; Computer Certificate Course for Girl students of Chhatargul, Presentation of appointment letters for Jobs to candidates as part of 'Hunar se Rojgar Tak', under which youth was imparted training for jobs in hospitality business, felicitation of winners and participants of the Kangan Premier League and under 'Udaan' selection of youth for assured jobs in private sector. A Basic computer certificate course for 20 girls was also culminated which was organised by the Rashtriya Rifles Bn at Chhatargul. Army also conducted hotel management course at Youth Guidance Node, Kangan for the duration of six weeks which was attended by a total of 22 students. The students learned the basic concepts of hotel management, aspects of administration, accounting, finance, information system, marketing and public relation in the various areas of hospitality business.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOn completion of the course all the students were given appointment letters and assured jobs by the leading hotels of Kashmir.
As a sports initiative 'Kangan Premier League' a mega T-20 Cricket tournament was conducted by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion in order to identify local talents and provide a platform to the youth to showcase their cricketing skills. The event witnessed massive support from local population with 32 teams participating. The final was played on 09 Sep 2015, 'Young 11' from Ari Goripora defeated 'Gousia Cricket Club' from Ganiwan in a keenly contested final and won the coveted trophy of Kangan Premier League. The winners and all participants were felicitated by Brigadier G S Kular Commander of Kangan based Army.
The events gained further popularity as NGO 'Udaan' conducted on spot interviews of local youth and selected candidates were given appointment letters . This mega event reinforced the trust and faith of the local AWAAM on the Army as the organisation which stands by the citizens of the nation through thick and thin. (KNS)
