In a statement issued to KNS, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina has said that the statement is welcome since it has come from one of the legislators of the coalition party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). "The PDP-BJP government is three years old but it is yet to give minority status to the Sikhs of Jammu & Kashmir. This is despite the fact that the same was incorporated in the election manifesto of PDP in the last assembly elections," said APSCC Chairman.
Raina said that chief minister Mehbooba Mufti should fulfil the dream of her father Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of giving minority status to the Sikhs of the state. He said otherwise the party along with its coalition partner Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) would pay a heavy price in the next assembly elections. (KNS)
