Says Sikh community equally concerned about killing of civilians in Hyderpora encounter

Srinagar, Nov 18 (KNS): All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) on Thursday appealed to Hurriyat Conference to defer the strike call given against the civilian killings of Hyderpora encounter on Friday as it coincides with the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Ji.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that the committee is equally concerned about the killing of civilians in Hyderpora encounter.

Raina condemned the civilian killings and demanded a fair probe in the entire matter.

“Whenever any innocent gets killed the entire humanity is bled. It is important that the bodies of civilians killed in the encounter are handed over to their family members so that they can perform the last rites according to their religious obligations," said Raina.

He said that since Guru Nanak's birthday is being celebrated on November 19 it would be highly appreciated that the strike call is deferred by a day and appealed to Hurriyat Conference to issue a revised strike call. (KNS)
