Apni party holds Women's Convention in Bandipora

Bandipora July 15:(KNS)  Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party  on Thursday organised a day-long party women's wing convention at its district headquarter in Bandipora.
 
  The convention was headed by Former Minister & Vice-President JKAP Usman Majid along with Apni Party District President Women's Wing Bandipora & DDC Member Firdosa Akhtar. 
 
    The meeting was attended by Chairman Municipal Council Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad, BDC Chairperson Hari begum, BDC Chairperson Gh Rasool Khan, BDC Chairperson Nazir Ahmad Rather, District President JKAP Bandipora Syed Shafat Qazmi, District Youth President Wasif Majeed Mir, Block Presidents Gh Hassan lone, Bashir Ahmad, Mohd Sadiq, Mohd Maqbool mir and hundreds of women political activists from Bandipora. 
 
  Addressing the convention, Usman Majid extolled the vital role played by women in the social, Academic, cultural and economic progress of the J&K.The essence & spirit of democracy will become a reality only when women are politically empowered.Their involvement in decision making at grass root level democratic institutions will be a game changer for women empowerment.
 
   The prevailing situation in kashmir has somehow stalled the empowerment of women for some years but the women must come forward and reclaim their inherit apt position in the making of progressive society, Usman added. 
 
  District women's President Firdosa Akhtar,while addressing the convention, said, "The presence of such a large number of women is a clear proof that women are aware of their rights and they are ready to move up the ladder, shoulder to shoulder with men in all spheres of life. Apni party is the only party, which has ensured the representation of women in every field".
 
   She reiterated that the party women's wing will work pro-actively to empower the women, particularly those having little avenues in far-off and remote areas.(KNS)
