Seeks safe return of Jammu based employees serving in Valley

Jammu 02 June (KNS): Apni Party leaders and workers today protested against the targeted killing of Jammu based employees who are working in different Govt departments in Kashmir.

The protest was organized at the Exhibition Ground in Jammu and it was led by Apni Party SC State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat.

In this protest, Provincial Secretary / District President Jammu Urban, Dr Rohit Gupta, Additional State General Secretary (Organisation) Arun Kumar Chibber, ST Wing President Saleem Alam, President Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, District Vice President Jammu Urban, Vaibhav Mattoo, Ashraf Chowdhury, Mohd Sheikh Latif, Provincial Secretary Trade, Daljeet Singh, Tarsem Lal, Kuldeep Raj, Ram Pal, Rajat Kumar, District Secretary Trade, Puran Chand, Jogender Kumar, Om Parkash Dansalia, State General Secretary Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya, Provincial President Youth Wing Vipul Bali, Youth Coordinator, Sunny Kant Chib, Joginder, Sandeep Vaid, Charanjeev, Atinder, Ankush, Gaurav, Vishal, Sumit Bali, Nadeem, Bali, Bublu, Mangat Ram, Irshad, Saleem and others were also present.

The protesters were shouting slogans against the killing of the innocent people in Kashmir and demanded Jammu based employees working in Govt Depts should be shifted to Jammu due to threat to their life amid emerging security situation.

Speaking on the occasion, SC State Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat said that the situation has become very dangerous for the Schedule Caste employees working in remote and far flung areas of Kashmir.

“These employees were serving there from last 10 to 16 years with no threats. However, the situation has taken a dangerous turn and it has worried hundreds of families belonging to the SC community,” he said.

He said that “The Govt must ensure their return and posting in Jammu region. They are unsafe in Kashmir. The killing of Rajni Bala has spread fear among the SC employees and hence, it is imperative for the Govt to take immediate decision for their safe return in Jammu and accordingly they should be provided postings here.”

He said that from the last several months the selective killing incidents have increased and the situation has turned worse to stay and work there.

“In these circumstances, the Govt must take a decision to bring back the Jammu based employees. Otherwise, the Apni Party will intensify its agitation in support of the demand across J&K,” he said.

Meanwhile, Provincial Secretary / District President Jammu Urban, Dr Rohit Gupta said that the Kashmiri Migrants should also be provided protection as well as shifted to Jammu till the security scenario improves.

He said that the situation is not safe for the KPs and Jammu based employees in Kashmir and the Govt must take a review of the situation immediately. (KNS)
