Srinagar May 17 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) today stated that Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits have lived side by side for centuries and even in these darkest times both the communities share a spirit of co-existence.

On directions of Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Party’s Additional General Secretary Anantnag Hilal Shah led a party delegation to Kashmiri Pandit Colony in Vessu, Anantnag to express solidarity with the minority community.

He was accompanied by District Secretary Tariq Ahmad Shah Veeri and District Youth President Anantnag Anees-ul-Islam.
The delegation met Kashmiri Pandits and expressed solidarity with them and ensured that the Muslim community stands together with the Kashmiri Pandits during such difficult times.

Addressing the community, Hilal Ahmad Shah said “It was extremely unfortunate to know about the killing of Rahul Bhat. My heart goes out to the bereaved family members. This act of terror is completely unjustified” he said.

He further stated, “It is shocking to see innocent people falling prey to the bullets. The unending violence and bloodshed over the years has ruined the social fabric of our society where people belonging to all religions and faiths lived peacefully for centuries. This mindless violence must end.”

He added that Muslims and Pandits of Kashmir ought to be united to fight against the ruthless killing spree and requested the Pandit community to stay back in their homeland. He said that the perpetrators of violence and killings need to be nabbed and punished for their crimes on its earliest.(KNS)
