Rana lauds private sector for spread of education

Jammu, Dec 02 (KNS): Provincial President National Conference and MLA Nagrota Devender Singh Rana on Saturday said sky is the limit for young students to excel in the fields of academics and extra- curricular activities, adding that this can be achieved by enhanced interpersonal relationship between teachers, students and parents.
“Such a crucial teacher-parent synergy is more required at the basic schooling level, which is an important component of learning process”, Rana said at the Annual Day Function of St. Joseph’s Convent High School, Dhoke Waziran in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
Rana urged parents, who were present in large numbers at the function, to have frequent interaction with teachers so as to monitor the development of their children on regular basis. He hoped the management will maintain best academic standards and shape the destiny of children as per needs of the fast changing world where competition has assumed central stage in every sphere of activity. He exhorted the management to take extra care of students coming from the lower strata of society, as part of their social responsibility.
The Provincial President lauded the role of private schools in the spread of education and exuded confidence that their efforts would help achieve higher level of literacy in the rural areas of the state.
Complimenting students, especially those who participated in various activities, Rana said that Annual Day Function is a special occasion for parents and their wards. He advised students to concentrate on sports alongside academics as it is necessary for sharpening their capabilities.
The Provincial President expressed happiness over growing consciousness among parents in being part of the activities of their children and said this spirit will help in creating congenial atmosphere for youngsters to grow as responsible citizens. He exhorted parents to help their ward set goals for them, as per their aptitude, and ensure that they pursue it with a sense of commitment.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe also stressed the need for inculcating moral values to students, keeping in view the glorious traditions. “This is necessary for satiating mental and spiritual thirst, especially in view of tremendous strains of this materialistic age”, he maintained.
Speaking on the occasion, Sr. Usha Thomas, Principal, St. Joseph’s Convent High School said this institution was established 2003 to impart value based education to the children of the town and nearby villages.
“At present we are catering to the needs of 440 students among them 40% are from the families of Kashmiri Pandit Migrant town of Jagti, Nagrota”, she said, adding that apart from providing 50% concession to Christians in all the fee heads, the students from underprivileged and downtrodden families from different faiths and economic background avail various services.
The Principal said the Josephite Family with the help of its committed and dedicated management, staff, coworkers and well wishers has been instrumental in the all round development of its students who outstand in all the walks of their life as they graduate from this prestigious institution.
Besides students, faculty members, parents, prominent citizens, Rev. Ivan Pereira: Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar, President of Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society was the Guest of Honour at the Annual Day Function. Besides, Rev. Fr. Jose Vadakkal: Vicar General, Vice President of Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society, Rev. Fr. Varkey, Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar, Rev. Fr.
