Anjuman Sharie Shiayan Marks Imam Khomeini Anniversary at Bemina Imambargah

Srinagar June 01 (KNS): mark the 36th death anniversary of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiayan organized a commemorative event at Imambargah Ayatullah Yousuf (RA) in Bemina, Budgam.

The conference began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Speakers described Imam Khomeini as a charismatic leader who ended monarchy in Iran and established an Islamic system of governance despite strong opposition from global powers.

President of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiayan, Aga Syed Mohammad Hadi Al-Mousvi, highlighted the life and teachings of Imam Khomeini, calling him a Marja Taqleed, philosopher, poet, and statesman. He noted that Imam Khomeini had a deep understanding of global affairs and played a transformative role in shaping modern Islamic political thought.

Mirwaiz Kashmir Dr. Umar Farooq also addressed the gathering and paid glowing tributes to the late revolutionary leader.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said, “Imam Khomeini taught us the values of unity and brotherhood, which are more relevant than ever in today’s divided world.”

He also emphasized Imam Khomeini’s commitment to the oppressed, especially his declaration of the last Friday of Ramadan as Youm al-Quds (Quds Day), a symbol of global solidarity with Palestine.

“After many years, we have gathered here at the Bemina Imambargah to honor a leader who stood for justice and spiritual consciousness,” Mirwaiz added.

The gathering also paid rich tributes to the late Alama Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Mousvi for his contributions to the religious and social development of the community. The event was attended by scholars, clerics, and community members who reflected on Imam Khomeini’s lasting legacy.
