Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam general secretary passes away

Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNS): Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam General Secretary and former chief engineer Muhammad Ibraheem Shah on Wednesday passed away at his Gogji Bagh residence after a brief illness.

According to statememt issued to KNS, as Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, could not attend the funeral prayers due to his continuous house arrest, a high-level delegation of Anjuman led by its acting general secretary Al-Haaj Altaf Ahmad Bhat and comprising Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, M S Rehman Shams, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat and other members and activists participated in the Namaaz-e-Janazah of the deceased which was led by Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon. Hundreds of locals, relatives and friends participated in the funeral prayers. Later, the deceased was buried at his ancestral graveyard at Malkha, Srinagar amid moist eyes.

Anjuman Nusrtatul Islam on behalf of its incarcerated president, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while paying rich tributes to Late Muhammad Ibraheem Shah for his decade-long educational and reformative services at the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam said that the deceased’s family was not only associated with the Mirwaiz Family since long but the Late Muhammad Ibraheem Shah contributed towards promotion of Anjuman’s educational and social activities due to his love and devotion for the institution.

Terming the demise as a "big loss", the Anjuman prayed for highest place in Jannah for Muhammad Ibraheem Shah and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.

The Anjuman recalled that “Muhammad Ibraheem Shah, the former chief engineer served at various other high positions. After retirement, he remained associated with the Anjuman without taking any salary; and when the historic building of Islamia High School got completely damaged due to fire, Muhammad Ibraheem Shah dedicated all his GP Fund savings to the construction of the new building of Islamia High School. The deceased sincerely and wholeheartedly dedicated himself for the cause and promotion of the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam.”

Muhammad Ibraheem Shah was an epitome of piousness, humbleness, and simplicity and was associated with organisations and institutions associated with the Mirwaiz Family which include Auqaf Jama Masjid and Darul Khair Mirwaiz Manzil.

As per family sources, the Fateha Khawani of the deceased will be held on December 18, 2020, after congregational Friday prayers around 02:30 pm at their ancestral graveyard Malkha, Srinagar near Masjid Ghazali. (KNS)
