Srinagar, Mar 21 (KNS) : Large Eid-ul-Fitr congregations were held across the Kashmir Valley under the aegis of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian Jammu and Kashmir, with thousands of faithful offering prayers at various venues, including the Markazi Imambara Budgam where the organisation’s president, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi, led the prayers.
In his address, Aga Syed Hassan extended Eid greetings to the Muslim Ummah and said true celebration of Eid lies in standing with oppressed nations. He urged special prayers for the people of Palestine, Gaza, and Iran. In view of the global situation, he called for observing Eid with simplicity as a mark of solidarity with martyrs and oppressed communities.
On local issues, Aga Syed Hassan appealed to the authorities in Kashmir to release all persons detained during recent peaceful protests, asserting that suppression of peaceful voices was against democratic norms.
Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe also condemned restrictions on Eid prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar and the house detention of Mirwaiz Kashmir, Dr Moulvi Umar Farooq, saying such steps hurt religious sentiments. He urged the administration to ensure full freedom for religious observances.
Eid congregations were also held at Khanqah-e-Moula Zadibal Srinagar, Jamia Masjid Abi Guzar, Imambara Gamdoo Sonawari Bandipora, Imambara Dab Ganderbal, Jamia Masjid Wakharwan Pulwama, Imambara Sufi Pora Pahalgam, and several other locations across the Valley.
The Anjuman appealed to the Muslim world to maintain unity and continue supporting oppressed nations. (KNS)
