Srinagar, Jul 10 (KNS): A joint meeting of Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul Islam and Anujaman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar was held at the Jama Masjid office in Srinagar in the wake of the NIA notice served to members of both the organisations.
The meeting was chaired by the vice President of Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid Moulana Ahmed Syed Naqashbandi and attended by Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam General Secretary Muhammad Ibraheem Shah and members and functionaries of both the institutions
The meeting condemned the continuous house detention of the patron of Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid and Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
The meeting termed governments move to cage Mirwaiz thereby barring him from carrying out his social and religious activists, as deplorable and authoritarian.
It maintained that NIA notices to Anjuman-e-Auqaf and Anjuman-e-Nusratul Islam is a highly condemnable move.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The members said that Anjuman Nusratul Islam is the pioneer educational organization in the Valley which spearheaded the advent and spread of education more than a century ago when the Valley was reeling under the darkness of ignorance and illiteracy. While Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid is a purely religious and social organization looking into the upkeep and running of this great religious spiritual and heritage Centre of the people of J&K. To target these institutions in order to harass and pressurise the Mirwaiz is deplorable. The participants said NIA notices to family members of Mirwaiz family earlier this week and summoning them to Delhi is also an attempt to build pressure on Mirwaiz to refrain him from his political stand and is condemnable.
