Srinagar, Jan 29 (KNS): Anjumam Auqaf jamia Masjid in collaboration with Mirwaiz Foundation released the annual Calendar for Hijri 1442 and year 2021 at Jama Masjid Srinagar on Friday.

The calendar was  released by Grand Imam and vice-president of Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid, Maulana Ahmad Sayed Naqashbandi as Anjuman’s president Mirwaiz Umar Farooq continues to be under house detention since August 2019.

In a statement issued to news agency KNS, spokesperson said that the exquisitely curated calendar contains beautiful photographs of historic and revered mosques and shrines across the valley specially in Shehre Khas. 

“It also contains daily five times prayer timings (Meeqat-ul- Salah), for the benefit of people. 
The calander was distributed free of cost on the occassion. Copies of the calendar can be obtained from Anjuman Auqaf head office in Jamia Masjid, free of cost.”

He said that as the calendar is sponsored by well wishers of the Foundation and The Anjuman, both the Organisations express their gratitude to the sponsors.

“Although free of cost , the Foundation would appreciate if in lieu of calendar purchase small donations are made by those who can, towards Darul  khair Mirwaiz Manzil to support it in its help the needy initiatives.”

Meanwhile, Grand Imam on the occasion once again reiterated the demand for the immediate release of the Mirwaiz from illegal and arbitrary detention, while those present also protested his arrest and demanded his release. (KNS)
