Anderkoot Village in Sumbal without drinking water for 3 months 

Bandipora, July 13(KNS) : Anderkoot village of Sumbal in this North kashmir Bandipora district is without drinking water supply for the last three month, residents complained on Friday

Speaking with Kashmir news service (KNS), the locals said that the village is without safe drinking water from last three months despite the locals brought this matter into the notice of administration but all goes in vain. They said that they are forced to take unsafe drinking water from nearby streams. 

The locals said that the low capacity water supply scheme in thier area should have been upgraded so that the entire population depends upon it will get clean water.

“We are affected by scarcity of safe drinking water, On daily basis we the people of the village striving hard to get safe potable water, usually women and girls, walk miles to get safe drinking water, " Hameeda a local woman said.

 "Our kids complain of different ailments and we are forced to drink the impure water everyday. Our health has detoriated , whom we will complain," Ishfaq khan a local resident said.

He said that the concerned department and district administration must end our genuine issue now and provide us with drinking water

Repeated attempts to reach Officials of Jal Shakti department  proved futile as they were unavailable for comments. 

Meanwhile the residents appealed Deputy Commissioner(DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais to intervene and redress their grievance. -(KNS)
