ANC condemns police of not abiding court orders

Srinagar, Mar 12 (KNS): Awami National Conference (ANC) on Thursday slammed authorities over putting hurdles in their release and alleged police of contempt to court.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), ANC vice president Muzaffar Ahmad Shah said the Jammu and Kashmir High Court passed directions to authorities to set ANC president Begum Khalida Shah, uncle Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal and me free from illegal detention.
It is pertinent to mention that authorities took ANC leaders into “preventive custody” hours before New Delhi scrapped special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 on August last year.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Talking to Kashmir News Service, Shah said, from last seven months ANC leadership is not being allowed by authorities to move out despite court repeatedly passed orders of our release.
“Soon after HC passed directions of our release, police put padlock in our gate and refused to comply the court orders”, Shah said.
He termed the move of authorities ‘undemocratic’ and ‘illegal’ and alleged J&K police of disrespecting the judiciary and trampling its order under feet. (KNS)
