Anantnag youth qualifies UPSC examination 2020; says hardwork pays off

Anantnag, Sep 25 (KNS): Waseem Ahmad Bhat who hails from a remote village Braghamof Dooru Shahbad of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district has qualified the 2020 UPSC examination with flying colors.

Waseem has scored 225th rank all over India in the civil services exam.

Waseem, a qualified civil engineer from NIT Srinagar has become the first in his village to qualify the UPSC examination.

“I had been preparing for the civil services examination for about two years,” Waseem told Kashmir News Service (KNS) over phone from New Delhi.

He has done his schooling from the local school in his native village and has also completed his higher secondary from the local school in Dooru, Anantnag.

When asked about what motivated him to prepare for the civil services examination, he said that, “it is important that anyone who wants to qualify such an examination should commit themselves from an early age to study”.

Success depends on hard work and how much you are committed to your goal. "I did the same and my hard work payed off", he added.

Waseem is the eldest sibling among his three other siblings. He credited his family, friends, teachers and siblings for his huge success.

About future plans Waseem told KNS that, “I would like to join Indian Administrative service (IAS) , and my second preference will be Indian Revenue Service (IRS). (KNS)
