Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): Anantnag Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four persons involved in two robbery cases and recovered stolen goods worth lakhs.
Police officials said that on 16.12.2017 Police Post Bus Stand received a written application from Sabzar Ahmad Matto, son of Gh Nabi Matoo, resident of Laram Gangipor, regarding a burglary at his shop located at old General Bus Stand.
Subsequently, a case FIR No. 314/2017, U/S 457, 380 RPC was registered in P/S Anantnag and investigation started.
“During course of investigation, suspects identifier as Umar Mukthar Dar, son of Habibullah Dar, Mubashir Ahmad Dar, son of Mansoor W Dar and Aasif Ahmad Rah, son of Gh Mohd Rah, residents of Rahpora Khudwani Kulgam were detained for questioning.
“Sustained interrogation led to the breakthrough in the case , resulting in the recovery of stolen goods worth Lacs of Rupees,” they said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, in another case of theft, eight mobile phones were recovered from Owias Nabi, son of Gh Nabi, resident of Janglatmandi who was arrested on 21.12.2017 in ‘case FIR No. 319/2017, U/S, 380 of P/S Anantnag.
The accused had stolen these mobile phones from the attendants inside the Wards of District hospital Anantnag. The complainant had approached Police Post Janglatmandi on 21.12.2017 with the written application in this regard.
In both the cases the investigation is presently going on. Further recoveries are expected.
The stolen goods that were recovered include 13 T Shirts, 42 sweaters, 18 trousers, 23 Cargo pents, 16 Jackets, 79 uppers and eight mobile phones. (KNS)
