Srinagar Feb, 15 (KNS): Anantnag Police solved a high profile theft case and arrested the accused after Jewellery worth  lakhs of rupees was recovered from his possession,  police said in a statement.

According to reports,  In December last year Police Station Aishmqam had received a complaint from Dr.Shaheen Iqbal Wani Son of  Ghulam Mohammed Wani, resident of  Palpora Salia Aishmqam  that a few days back someone has stolen gold ornaments and cash from her sisters home at Manzigam Aishmqam.

Police filed an FIR No. 51/2019 U/S 454,380/ IPC and launched Investigation.

During investigation, police claimed that  Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat of Kulgam  had broken  into the house of Nazir Ahmad Salroo son of  Late Abdul Ahad Salroo Resident of Mazigam Ashmuqam and had stolen away

 A special team was constituted by police to tracking the accused.  After strenuous efforts made by the SIT, the accused person was arrested who confessed about his involvement.  

During the initial investigation, the accused confessed that  he sold the Gold ornaments to a jeweller namely Sheikh Suhan  resident of West Bangal Kolkata at present Saraf bazar Dangerpora Anantnag and acting  upon  this tip off, the stolen Gold ornaments were  recovered by the police. (KNS).
