Six militants killed during 4 encounter in South Kashmir in last 2 days

Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): A militant of ISJK outfit was killed in an encounter that broke out in Srigufwara area of Anantnag late last night, police said here.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that encounter broke out in K Kalan area of Srigufwara last night, following inputs about the presence of militants.

He said that in the ensuing encounter one militants was killed and he has been identified as Faheem Bhat of Kadipora Anantnag. “He had recently joined the ISJK outfit and was involved in the killing of ASI Mohammad Ashraf at Bijbehara,” he said. 

Notably, six militants have been killed in the last 2 days during four encounters in south Kashmir districts, of which four were killed in twin encounters in Chowgam and Tral villages of Shopian and Pulwama district respectively and one militant was killed in Arwani area of Anantnag on Friday morning.
