Shopian, Dec 08 (KNS): The security forces on Thursday recovered ammunition from the site of gunfight in Wathoo area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, while militants have managed to give slip to the forces.
Officials said that the encounter was broke out late last evening when joint teams of forces launched an anti militancy operation in the area.
“During a search operation, as the search party proceeded towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired indiscriminately upon the search party which was retaliated upon effectively leading to an encounter,” they said.
However during the searches two pistol rounds and three AK-47 rounds were recovered while no militant was found at the encounter site and it is believed that they have managed to give slip to the security forces and the operation was called off(KNS).
