Mohammad Ahsan Ahsan awarded for his life time achievement

Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK), state’s biggest and oldest literary and cultural organization will set up its supporting units in London and New York to involve the Kashmiris around the world to promote and protect the language.
This was stated by AMK president Dr Shujaat Bukhari at a literary function organized by Bahar-e-Adab Tilgam a constituent of AMK here today. A galaxy of littérateurs, scholars and writers attended the function. Noted writer and poet Mohammad Ahsan Ahsan was conferred with annual award of the organization on the occasion.
The function was organized in collaboration with Radio Kashmir Srinagar, J and K Academy of Art Culture & Languages and Directorate of Information Kashmir in which poets and writers of the valley participated.
In the first session a paper was presented on the life and works of poet Late Ghulam Mohammad Gamgeen by Abdul Khaliq Shams titled “Ghulam Mohammad Gamgeen as poet of Ghazal” followed by a debate on it. The session was presided over by AMK president Dr Shujaat Bukhari and others who were in the presidium included EJAZ president Abdul Qayoom Wani, Bahar e Adab patron Fayaz Tilgami, AMK general secretary Mohammad Amin Bhat, Mashal Sultanpuri and Director (News) Doordarshan Shafiq Qureshi.
In his address Dr Shujaat Bukhari said, “the Kashmiri Language should become a fashion to speak”. Stating that AMK would continue to strive for the promotion of language he said supporting units had already been established in Delhi and Jammu and we will soon go global by setting up units in London and New York. “Kashmiri speaking people around the world have lot of hopes with AMK and we won’t disappoint them” Kashmiri diaspora has immense love for their language and with the modern technology at hand “we can do a lot to promote the language at global lavel”.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAMK general secretary Mohammad Amin Bhat gave detailed account of the activities and said that the organization would united the littérateurs on the critical of issue the threat the language is facing.
SDM Tangmarg Abdul Qayoom assured fifty present contribution for organising such literary functions in future in Tangmarg, “ in order to promote Kashmiri language, the boards and banners will be printed in Kashmiri Language and I will personally contribute for any publication from these literary forums”. EJAC President Abdul Qayoom Wani stressed on installation of Kashmiri sign boards in government offices and assured the AMK of all the support in its endeavours.
In second session renowned poet and Mohammad Ahsan Ahasan was conferred with the annual award of Bahar e Adab for his lifetime achievements. The session was presided by Prof Mohammad Zaman Aazurda. Earlier the Bahar e Adab patron Fayaz Tilgami presented the welcome address.
A Mushaira was also conducted in which prominent poets include Fayaz Tilgami, Ghulam Hassan Darvesh, Zameer Ansari, Mir Afroz, Majeed Majazi, Prof Mashal Sultanpuri,Gulshan Badrani and Wasim Parvez participated. Noted writers Syed Saaduddin Saadi, Syed Nazir Hussain, vice president AMK Farooq Rafiabadi, Rashid Kanispori and Shaad Dardpori were also present. The function was conducted by general secretary Shabnum Tilgami. (KNS)
