Bandipora, Oct 15 (KNS): The 38th annual two-day literary conference of Adbee Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir (AMKJK) concluded here at Bandipora district on Saturday afternoon.
The annual conference which began on Saturday was attended by a galaxy of writers, poets, scholars, teachers who arrived here at Wullar Valley College of Education Papchan Bandipora from across the state and participated in the mega event.
The two-day conference was divided into sessions. On the first day it began with the inaugural session followed with the release of quarterly journal “Prave”, the special issue has been dedicated to late poet and write Prof. Mohiuddin Hajini.
The yearly conference was dedicated to MD Hajini. On the first day (Saturday), an evening poetry Mushaira was also held in which poets from different places recited their poems and couplets.
During the Mushaira, poets enthralled the audience by reciting their poems and couplets. They through their couplets reflected the socio-political scenario of the state and also the braid chopping incidents.
AMK said that they have institutionalised best book award for the year 2016 which was announced at its annual conference here at Bandipora here and will be given every year.
This year it was given to Abdul Khaliq Shams for his book Gulshani Ambia. The book was adjusted the best book. The award carries Rs 10,000, a shawl and a certificate.
According to AMK, this year's prestigious "Sharf-e-Kamraz" was given to noted writer and poet Dr.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelG M Aajir while Literary Forum Bandipora also received the same award.
The awards were given by Vice Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology, Prof. Mushtaq Sidiqi who was the chief guest on the occasion.
A Kashmiri book titled “Tawi Ande Pake” authored by Pyare Hatash was also released.
The editorial board of AMK’s quarterly journal bilingual “Prava” including its editor Abdul Ahad Hajini, assistant editor Jameel Ansari and Adil Ismael were also honored with mementos.
Literary forum Bandipora and Chairman Wullar Valley College of Education Parvez Ahmad Shah received an award of appreciation for their vote and support for the success of the yearly conference.
A session on the issues concerning teaching the Kashmiri language in schools was also held which was presided over by directorate School Education Kashmir G.N Itoo in which many scholars participated besides director academics Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Dr. Farooq Ahmad Peer.
A discussion on issues concerning Kashmiri language was also held during which participants raised eyebrows over various issues.
AMK’ president Dr Syed Shujaat Bukhari announced that they will hold the election for the its new executive body on 26 November. It will also hold a meeting 05 of next month. (KNS)
