To hold annual conference in Budgam in March

Sopore, Jan 22 (KNS): Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) will hold its annual conference of 2016 in the month of March in Budgam and a themetic session would be devouted to one of genres in Kashmiri literature.
This was stated by AMK president Dr Syed Shujaat Bukhari at an executive meeting of the organisation held at Sopore today. He lauded the role of the members in making the organisation strong and also hailed their contribution in highlighting the sufferings of the people through their creative writings during the turbulent summer of 2016. “It is our duty to express the pain and sufferings of the people through our writings” he said adding that the literature produced in Kashmir in last 26 years has been hallmark of the writings especially in Kashmiri language. “But unfortunately it does not reach to masses as they are yet to show their willingness to read and write in their mother tongue”. Dr Bukhari said that Kashmiri language was the symbol of their (people’s) identity and even political identity is subservient to that. He said that AMK would continue to strive for including the Kashmiri language in 9th and 10th class curriculum despite the indifference shown by the current PDP-BJP government.
