Srinagar, Mar 20 (KNS): Adbee Markaz Kamraz, an amalgam of 25 cultural and literary organisations has expressed serious concern over ignoring Kashmiri as a subject at +2 level in Higher Secondary Schools of state in general and in Kashmir in particular.
In a statement to KNS, AMK spokesperson said that it was shocking to note that out of 1059 posts advertised by Public Service Commission for the Lecturers at Higher Secondary level only three posts have been kept for Kashmiri language. The spokesman said that it was sheer injustice to the language spoken by the majority of the people in the state. He said that Kashmiri language has a firm base and is being taught as compulsory subject up to middle classes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThere are thousands of students who was opt for Kashmiri at Higher Secondary level but in absence of creation of posts they are unable to do so.
AMK has urged the Governor to intervene in the matter and stop the recruitment for other positions until the injustice meted out to Kashmiri language is not undone.
The spokesman termed this approach of bureaucracy as anti Kashmiri and said that it will be fought tooth and nail and a state wide agitation could be the last resort to make government understand the importance of the language. "This language is connected with our emotions" the spokesman said adding that government should stop playing with our emotions. (KNS)
