Srinagar, May 26 (KNS): A delegation of Adbee Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir Friday met Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and urged him to implement the decision taken in March 2014 vis-a-vis introduction of Kashmiri language in 9th and 10th classes.
Comprising AMK president Dr Shujaat Bukhari and general secretary Mohammad Amin Bhat the delegation stressed upon issuing the formal orders with regard to the decision of introducing the language in 9th and 10th classes as taken in March 2014. "It is unfortunate that those responsible for implementing the decision had done everything to sabotage it in spite of the fact that people whose mother tongue is Kashmiri are emotionally involved with it" the delegation told the minister. They also stressed upon introducing the language in Kashmiri speaking areas of Jammu from primary classes on the pattern of Kashmir division.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe delegation invited the attention of the minister in fulfilling the vacancies of Kashmiri teachers in higher secondary schools and colleges.
The Minister assured that the formal orders with regard to introduction of Kashmiri, Dogri and Bodhi languages in 9th and 10th classes will be issued soon. He was sympathetic to other demands and said that every step will be taken to give rightful place to Kashmiri language. He said that the government was committed to safeguard the distinct cultural identity. Secretary Education Farooq Ahmed Shah, Additional Secretary Education Massarat Eislam and other officers were present. The delegation thanked the minister for his positive approach. (KNS)
