Srinagar, Jun 28 (KNS): Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir Friday said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the Valley amid positive response from the people here was a good start.

Mir told KNS that whenever anyone from union government has visited valley, there was negative response from the people of Kashmir but this time it has been a good start as there was no negative approach from people.

Mir further stated that people want assembly elections to be held immediately and the statement made by Shah today in parliament was appreciable.

Asked about Shah’s statement regarding BJP’s firm on Article 370 and 35A, Mir said that such statements have been made by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also but whenever a party comes into the power, it has to remain conscious about certain things, therefore such statements can’t be implemented on ground. (KNS)
