Amit Shah lays foundation of 'Balidaan Stambh' in Srinagar

 Srinagar, June 24(KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Saturday, laid the foundation stone of 'Balidaan Stambh' (martyr's memorial) at Pratap Park, in central Kashmir's Srinagar city.

Accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Shah undertook this significant initiative at the bustling Lal Chowk city center, a vibrant commercial hub of the picturesque city.

The commemorative project, proudly undertaken as part of the Srinagar Smart City endeavor, serves as a poignant tribute to the valiant martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.

Amidst the backdrop of heightened security arrangements, the solemn ceremony commenced without any disruptions, allowing shops in the vicinity to operate as usual while traffic flowed seamlessly, with only a temporary pause along the route between Regal Crossing and Lal Chowk to facilitate Shah's departure. Once the foundation stone was laid, Shah proceeded to Raj Bhavan, the esteemed official residence of the Lieutenant Governor, for further engagements.

Moreover, Shah also pay homage at the historic Karan Mahal, the abode of the esteemed Karan Singh, the last Yuvraj of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Union Home Minister also graced the Police Golf Course, offering breathtaking vistas of the iconic Dal Lake, where he interacted with a select group of individuals before bidding adieu to the scenic valley and returning to Delhi.(KNS).
