Pulwama, Mar 3 (KNS): Thousands of people Thursday attended the funeral prayers of slain militant, Ishaq Ahmad alias “Newton” who was killed in a night long encounter erupted between forces and militants on Wednesday evening in Dadsara village of Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Amid pro-freedom slogans, Ishaq's body was marched to the graveyard in Laribal village where thousands of people participated in his last rites.
Ishaq according to the police officials left his home in March last year and joined the militant outfit.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Tral area of Pulwama district against the killing of three militants.

He said that a large number of people are visiting the families of the three slain militants in Tral to pray tributes and offer condolences to the families.
The gunfight had erupted late Wednesday evening after forces launched a search and cordon operation in the area after information about the presence of militants.
The three militants who were holed up inside a residential house in Mir Mohalla of Dadsara were killed during the gunfight.
The slain militants were identified as Asif, resident of Dadsara; Ishaq, resident of Laribal; and Ashiq, resident of Chersoo.
A top police official told KNS that three AK-47 rifles have been recovered from the encounter site. (KNS)
