Srinagar, Jul 05 (KNS): As the strike of Resident doctors continued in Govt Medical College (GMC) and its associate hospitals including the Lal Ded Hospital, there has been a sudden increase in the rush of patients to the JVC Hospital Bemina particularly patients having delivery issues, surgical and other issues.
According to the KNS correspondent, there was heavy rush of the patients in the hospital and as per the hospital records on a average more than 3000 patients are being attended in OPD and causality on daily basis.
Officials said that a total of 10011 patients have visited the hospital from 3rd July to 5th July.
They said that over hundreds of patients are being admitted in the 250 bedded hospital on daily basis while as the capacity as per the directions of the Principal has been enhanced by 40 more beds by accommodating the same in various corridors of the hospital to accommodate more and more patients and ensure treatment to patients coming from other hospital affected by strike.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that the additional staff in all related departments has been augmented. “The dedication and commitment shown by the doctors, paramedical and other staff in JVC Bemina was highly appreciated by the attendants and relatives of patients admitted there and the way doctors have continued to attend OPDs beyond 5.00 pm till the last registered patient was seen,” officials said.
It is worthwhile to mention that the JVC Hospital came to the rescue of LD Hospital last year when on 12th May, 2017, the LD Hospital Operation theatre suddenly caught fire, forcing closure of Obstetric emergencies and most of the patients were accommodated in the make shift wards and corridors of JVC Hospital and 28 emergency surgeries performed in that night which was highly appreciated by social circles.
