Says ‘Amendment will give rise to horse trading’

Srinagar, Nov 02 (KNS): Describing the Amendment in Municipal Act as politically motivated, the Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) President Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday said that the move will give rise to the horse trading and will hamper the credibility of the members.
In a statement issued to KNS, Mir said that the state of Jammu and Kashmir has reached a place where secret ballot for higher institutions was done away with the intention to avoid cross voting but by this amendment this “menace” has been encouraged.
“Governor should have not done this Amendment,” he said.
The DPN President also condemned the killing of BJP leader and his brother at Kishtwar and termed their killings as an inhuman act.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“There is an ulterior motive to divide us on communal lines,” he said, while urging the government to nab the culprits at an earliest.
Ghulam Hassan Mir termed the summoning of a religious leader, scholar and preacher, Aga Syed Hassan’s by National Investigating Agency (NIA) as unfortunate.
“Whatever the political philosophy he adores, state has to show the respectability of such institutions,” Mir said.
Mir was reacting over the summoning of a top Shia cleric, Aga Syed Hassan by NIA at Police officers Mess in Humhama Srinagar today. (KNS)
