DGP takes aerial survey of security, deployment arrangements

Srinagar, June 08 (KNS): Security and deployment arrangements made for the ensuing yatra were reviewed at a meetings held at Pahalgam and Baltal today. Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar in chair, the meetings were attended by senior officers from police and security agencies.
The meetings were convened to review the security arrangements and deployment of personnel for the ensuing Amar Nath Ji Yatra. He stressed upon the officers present in the meetings to maintain close coordination with other sister security agencies and civil administration to achieve better results.
During the meetings threadbare discussions were held with regard to deployment of personnel from JKP and other security agencies from both the routes for smooth conduct of Yatra-2016. Officers representing different security agencies briefed about the deployment of man power and other related security arrangements for smooth conduct of Yatra.
Earlier, Rajendra along with IGP Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani took aerial survey of both the routes viz Pahalgam and Baltal and asked the officers to identify the sensitive places and strengthen security grid after making joint efforts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Rajendra also asked to strengthen the communication network and maintain liaison about the arrival and departure of pilgrims. Duty magistrates and the civil administration should be provided full cooperation in the performance of their duties.
Rajendra stressed upon the officers parking of vehicles at the identified slots should be ensured and recovery vans kept in readiness to ensure smooth traffic regulation on both the routes. He disclosed that round the clock functioning of Joint Control Rooms under the supervision of senior officers have been established to monitor the arrangements by the senior officers.
Among others, the meetings were attended by concerned Superintendents of Police, SDPo and officers from other security agencies. (KNS)
