Amar Singh College organizes Special Lecture on the significance of G20

Srinagar May 21 (KNS):  As a part of the ongoing programmes under G20 Presidency Celebrations, The department of Political Science, Amar Singh College, Srinagar organized a special lecture on the theme “The Significance of G20” Saturday.

Aiming to make aware the students about the significance of G20, the programme started with the inaugural address by Dr. Zuabair Nazeer Malik, Head of the Department of Public Administration, who gave a brief detail about the theme. Prof. Tafazul Hussain, Department of Political Science, delivered a special lecture on the significance of G20.

He said that this forum is more representative as compare to other existing organizations as it is a fine mix of developed and developing countries. Hence, as on organization G20 can be more effective in global economic and financial corporation, as it can ensure policy framework and implementation strategies.

Prof. Tafazul added that, for India, G20 presidency is a great opportunity to showcase its soft power capabilities and its leadership credentials to the world. During the session, the students posed lot of questions to speaker and got positive responses. The session was very interactive and the faculty members also took part in the question answer session. 
Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, in his message applauded the organizers for the successful programme and impressed upon that all the programmes under G20 be organized with zeal and zest. Apart from Coordinator G20 events, Prof. Mujeeb Ahmad Kawoosa, Coordinator IQAC, Dr. Kousar Muzamil, HoD Political Science Prof. Arifat Jan and other faculty members, the programme was attended by a large number of students. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Towseef Ahmad Deptt. of Political Science.(KNS)
