Srinagar, May 17 (KNS): People’s Conference chairman and senior Hurriyat leader Bilal Gani Lone Tuesday said that he was committed to freedom struggle of Kashmir and will follow his martyred father’s vision.
“I am committed to the freedom struggle of Kashmir. My politics will end in the Hurriyat only. I am committed to the thinking and vision of my late father and Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani Lone,” Lone said while speaking in the seminar organsied by Hurriyat (M) on Hafta-e-Shahadat Rajbagh here.
Lone said that he doesn’t need a certificate from anyone when it comes to question his commitment towards the freedom struggle in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lone said that the major beneficiaries of the Kashmir conflict should have been common Kashmiris who have given sacrifices and are facing the brunt of the conflict.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“But unfortunately the beneficiaries of this conflict are few elite class business families. They have made the conflict their own business,” he said.
Lone said there is a need to de-glorify some things that have been glorified in the past by some elite people of Kashmir.
About making public the video of the Handwara girl, Lone said the girl is a daughter and sister of someone, but her tragedy was politicized by people here.
“People should have protected the girl as she too is a daughter and sister. But instead of hiding her image, people played politics on her. And it is a collective shame for all of us,” he said, while referring to Kunan-Poshpora rape victims where many women are still unmarried because of the stigma. (KNS)
